'Mithai' is the Carolina's first and only in-house manufacturer of Indian Sweets and desserts. Other Indian businesses/restaurant franchises/groceries here import such sweets from New York or New Jersey, which also have preservatives, colour retention agents and shelf life enhancers. We specialise in 100% preservative and chemical free products with no fillers or emulsifiers.
Our traditional Indian desserts are made from scratch (23 types) without eggs and most without butter. Everything is based on either milk, nuts (almonds, cashew, pistachio), and grains (gram flour, wheat-flour, semolina). None of the items have all 3, making it ideal for those with food intolerances to find something that works for them.
Our milk is from a local dairy farm in Julien, NC (near Greensboro) where the cows are not injected with growth hormones -- the milk we use is therefore non rBST.
Our snacks are from the Eastern part of India (West Bengal). All the snacks are vegetarian and vegan and we source our products locally from various NC farms.
